Over CAD$180 billion ($135.2 billion) to invest in the next 12 years, of which CAD$28.7 billion ($21.5 billion) spent on modernising the transport sector. To support economic growth, the government is focusing on sustainable mobility and port development. It is funding the construction of new metro lines, and the design phase for a new light metro between Greater Toronto and Hamilton that would be built by a consortium that includes Salini Impregilo and Astaldi. Meanwhile, the government is not ruling out advanced solutions like a Hyperloop, and has launched a feasibility study to build this futuristic transport system between Toronto and Montreal.
