SALINI MAGAZINE - WE BUILD VALUELIKE US ON FACEBOOK

From the Brooklyn Bridge to Route 66, from the First Transcontinental Railroad network to the Erie Canal, “We Build Value” takes a coast to coast trip across the United States of America to celebrate the massive infrastructure works that have changed the face of the country. In the first of two articles, we start our journey on the East Coast, looking at the Brooklyn Bridge, which was added to the list of national monuments in 1964; the Erie Canal, which connected the East Coast and the Midwest starting in 1825; and Route 66, historic highway from Chicago to Los Angeles, inaugurated in 1926. These are just a few of the iconic infrastructure works that have become symbols of America’s economic progress. These examples are more relevant than ever today, at a moment when the US is having a heated debate about the urgency of substantial investments to modernize the country's ageing infrastructure network.
