Its aim to reduce its economy\u2019s dependence on oil, as detailed under a programme called Economic Vision 2030, resembles that of its bigger neighbours. Its plans for a metro also follow the example of others. Saudi Arabia is building one of the world\u2019s biggest with six lines, while Doha has recently completed its own in preparation for the FIFA World Cup that it will host in 2022.&nbsp;<strong>Salini Impregilo<\/strong>&nbsp;is&nbsp;<strong>involved&nbsp;<\/strong>in&nbsp;<strong>both of the projects.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"602\" height=\"343\" src=\"https:\/\/www.webuildvalue.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/world-trade-center-bahrain.jpg\" alt=\"world-trade-center&#8211;bahrain\" class=\"wp-image-523715\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.webuildvalue.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/world-trade-center-bahrain.jpg 602w, https:\/\/www.webuildvalue.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/world-trade-center-bahrain-300x171.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 602px) 100vw, 602px\" \/><figcaption>World Trade Center, Bahrain<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>first&nbsp;<\/strong>of the<strong>&nbsp;Bahrain metro project\u2019s four phases<\/strong>&nbsp;is to see the construction of<strong>&nbsp;two lines<\/strong>&nbsp;covering 30 square kilometres, Al-Janahi said in the interview, which was picked up by a variety of outlets including the Reuters news agency and Arabian Business newspaper out of Dubai. One line, to be known as the&nbsp;<strong>Red Line<\/strong>, would&nbsp;<strong>connect Bahrain International Airport&nbsp;<\/strong>with the suburban<strong>&nbsp;Seef District&nbsp;<\/strong>through the Bahrain Financial Harbour. The other one, the&nbsp;<strong>Blue Line<\/strong>, would start from the&nbsp;<strong>Juffair suburb<\/strong>&nbsp;and go through the<strong>&nbsp;diplomatic area<\/strong>&nbsp;before&nbsp;<strong>ending at Isa Town<\/strong>. Both lines would meet at a&nbsp;<strong>central station<\/strong>&nbsp;in the financial harbour.<br>According to the ministry\u2019s website and an accompanying video, the metro, also known as the&nbsp;<strong>Bahrain Urban Transit Network<\/strong>, will have&nbsp;<strong>driverless trains&nbsp;<\/strong>that will give it a capacity to carry<strong>&nbsp;43,000 passengers every hour<\/strong>.
