The underground rail tunnel connecting Genoa to Europe

More than €2 billion has been allocated to major infrastructure projects, from the Terzo Valico dei Giovi-Genoa Node to the Foranea Dam. These major projects, which were launched before Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan, aim to revive Genoa as a European economic and commercial hub, focusing first of all on high-capacity rail. In recent weeks, the excavation works were completed in one of the tunnels of the Genoa Node, the fast connection that will allow goods to travel from the port to Europe on high-capacity rail. The Node, which is part of the Terzo Valico dei Giovi project (carried out by Webuild Group), is one of the most important sustainable transport routes connecting Northern Italy with the rest of the continent.
